Free Fresh Food Pantries in Tompkins County

produce, breads, desserts, dairy, deli, groceries (if available)

Monday to Friday:

  • Free daily meals at Loaves and Fishes. No income guidelines. All are welcome. Location: St. John’s Church, 210 N. Cayuga St., Ithaca; Monday, Wednesday, Friday at noon; Tuesday, Thursday at 6 pm
  • Excess is shared with Freedom Village USA: Rehab center – 160 troubled teens plus staff
  • Snacks for Enfield School children

Tuesdays:

  • Immaculate Conception Church Food Pantry. Seneca near Geneva St., Ithaca 1:00 to 1:45 p.m.

Wednesdays:

  • Bread of life Food Pantry, Rt. 96, across from Post Office, Candor, NY, 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Thursdays:

  • Halsey Valley Pantry, GAR building, Hamilton Rd, Halsey Valley, NY, 4-4:45 p.m.
  • Snacks and breads for TC Probation Department, Women’s Opportunity Center, Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC) and The Youth Bureau’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program
  • Thursday before 3rd Friday: Danby Food Pantry for residents only – 6 to 8 p.m.

Fridays:

  • Interlaken Reformed Church Pantry, Rt. 96 – 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Food is shared with four non-profit programs.
  • 3rd Friday of each month, Danby Food Pantry 4 to 6 p.m. Limited to Danby residents
  • Cayuga Addiction and Recovery Services; Northern Lights Learning Center Families; Salvation Army weekend meals; outreach to low-wage work sites, senior housing and trailer park families

Saturdays and Sundays:

  • Free hot meal served at Salvation army, 150 N. Albany St, Ithaca, NY -Saturday -noon; Sunday – 3 pm
  • 1st Saturday: Catlin First Methodist Church Pantry.  Food donations are shared with separate American Red Cross Shelter/programs
  • 2nd Saturday: Worker’s Center – Linderman Creek Pantry, Community Room 12-12:30.  Food donations are shared with separate Beaver Dam Pantry at Grace Lee Wesleyan Church
  • 3rd Saturday: Adison pantry in Stuben county
  • 4th Saturday: McLean Community Church: Pantry 1:30-2:15
  • 5th Saturday: Youth Bureau Outreach Program in Ward Heights (Newfield) and Hanshaw Village trailer park.  Food donations are shared with a separate Mental Health Association outreach program

Sundays (Alternating Weeks):

  • Overlook Apartments, community room, noon to 1:00
  • Mental Health Association and Youth Bureau outreach, NY
  • Rural Pantry in Pine Valley, NY

Eligibility:

  • Limit: 1 pantry per week.
  • Suggested Monthly Income: 1 person -$1,500; 2 people – $1,800;3 people – up to $2,000; 4 people – to $2,300
